Slightly Crazier than Usual: A Muppet Fanfic

So, this was just something that randomly popped up in my mind, and I just wrote it down, and before I knew it I had a four part fanfic written down in front of me. So, I wasn't originally planning to post this, but then there was just something in my mind telling me to post it.

Chapter One

I woke up instantly when I heard the phone ring. Looking around the room in the Muppet Boarding House. My two roommates, Maggie and Delilah, were both already awake. I walked into the kitchen. "If I didn't know any better, I'd think you're a vampire." Delilah said, brushing a few strands of reddish-brown hair from her face. She was always joking about the fact that I stayed up late and didn't wake up until the afternoon. Although Delilah was just an "honorary Muppet" because she was Floyd's niece, she was still very awesome.

Kermit stood up to make an announcement as I was pouring some cereal into a bowl. "Today Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie, the Electric Mayhem and I will be filming scenes for a new movie."

"But what about today's episode of The Muppet Show?" Maggie asked, holding up a script in her paws.

"You'll have to improvise," Kermit told us. That gave us all a bit of peace of mind. Maggie was great at improvising. Everybody loved her music number in the season premier with Daniel Radcliffe as the guest star. It couldn't be too bad if we had her in charge.

Chapter Two

We were all nervous as the audience entered the theater. After the theme song, which, due to the Electric Mayhem's absence, was played by just Rowlf and me, Maggie walked onstage. "Hello and welcome to The Muppet Show. Tonight, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, and the Electric Mayhem are unable to be here tonight, but I hope you aren't too disappointed because our guest star is the fantabulous-"

"Our guest star just called. They just had an unexpected schedule change, and are unavailable, but they said they would love to be on the show some other time," Scooter told her.

"Okay, so we have no guest star and some of the Muppets aren't here, but I hope you love the show anyway." The audience groaned and about half of them, including Statler and Waldorf, stood up and left. For the opening number, Annie Sue performed the same song she sang in her musical debut in season three:

The audience, or what was left of it, loved it, just as they had when she first performed the song.

After that music number, we had a Vet Hospital sketch. Of course, with Miss Piggy and Janice being unavailable, Delilah and I had to take their place. I must have looked like such a freak with the pig ears and snout on, just as both of us probably looked weird with blond wigs. It was still funny to hear all of Rowlf's jokes on how even with these costumes, we still looked nothing like Janice and Piggy.

As we walked offstage, we were given schedules of all the skits and sketches for the episodes. Maggie was a genius! With a show like this, there was no way the remainder of the audience wouldn't like it.

Chapter Three

We seemed to be following the schedule perfectly, and the small audience seemed to be enjoying it. For the first time ever in the history of The Muppet Show, Delilah finally got the chance to show the world how talented she truly is.

After that, Scooter had a music number that was pretty good:

It was almost perfect, but every time Scooter said "burning" Crazy Harry would set off an explosion. "What are we going to do now?" Maggie asked, seeing that the stage was almost completely demolished by the explosions.

"I think I have an idea," Delilah spoke up.

This is quite nice. Waiting for more. Also, since Floyd seems to be another of your fave characters, I recommend you go to the FanFic Library Index and read through ZootyCutie's and PuppyLuver's stories, as they feature another fic-created character, Misty who is Floyd's and Janice's daughter.

Thanks, and I have read some of their fanfic. Very cool. I'm about to post the final chapter. (Yes, it's short. I wrote it in just 2 days during spare time in school.) However, I'm starting to really regret not having much in either of these two fanfics.

Chapter Four

I searched through the flip-folder to find the song and began to play my clarinet as Rowlf played the piano and the other Muppets sang.

"The sun'll come out

There'll be sun," Scooter began.

"Just thinkin' about

Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
'Til there's none!" Delilah chimed in.

"When I'm stuck with a day

I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say," Robin joined in.

"The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow

Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!

A day away!" By now, all of the Muppets had joined in.
"When I'm stuck with a day
That's gray,

The audience absolutely loved it, and we couldn't be any more proud of ourselves.

"So," Kermit asked us at dinner that night, "how was the episode today?"

"Crazy," I answered.

"As usual," Scooter added in, petting Maggie, who was sitting next to him.

The Muppets were completely insane, but that's what made being part of them so perfect.
