Yeah. Not that I'm sure what Shonky's is. I'll go out on a limb and say that he's probably not orange with a yellow snout and magenta hair, though.

I've been working on a puppet all day, and she's turning out really well. She's all cute and ragamuffiny. So, to counterbalance all that nicey-niceness I drew this.

Boober and the Evil Brew: an illustration for a fic I posted a couple of years ago, To Serve Fwaggles. "Doctor" Boober cooks up a cure for the common Gorg.

I'm not at home with colored light sources or lighting from below. Gives a creepy effect, huh? As for that weird mouth, you know that scrunchy frown that Kermit pulls? Boober can do that too.

Boober's got quite the tempest in that pot there! Thankfully for Junior that mix was never put to any use.

Boober wouldn't actually have used it. Wembley was right; he would have come to his senses in time, just as he did in Boober Gorg. And then regretted the missed opportunity, but not as much as he'd have regretted it if he hadn't missed it.
I love the green lighting in this one!
Thanks. I'm not used to doing anything worth mentioning with lighting effects, so when I draw something like this or He made me do it... I overthink it so much I can't tell if it looks perfect or just plain sucks. I tried not to overwork this one, just try to figure out where the glow would hit him. (Already I see an error: his right arm shadows his scarf, but not his left arm. Phooey!)

I know the feeling. I'm not overly confident with lighting myself so when I do it in my drawings, I often convinced it looks terrible and start all over until I give up.

That's a great thing about Photoshop. You can put the lighting on separate layers so if you don't like it you can change it without altering the underlying drawing. For my art I typically have three layers (bottom to top: flats, shadow, light) plus more if I want to add in other effects. For this pic the green glow was on the light layer.

Some cels from Boober Strikes Again:

Fraggle Jumprope: Which is false advertising, as Fraggles don't need jumpropes.

Boober's Feast..."So what?" Freed from the usual distractions and annoyances, Boober has cooked up the ultimate feast, only to realize that there's still something missing.

Some random cels: Though these are from two different scenes, it looks like Boober's going "Will somebody shut him up?!"

Aaaah! Angry Boober is so cute! I know that's not at all what he's going for, but it can't be helped. And his feast looks pretty good, there's a french bread, a souffle, a nice green salad, and what appear to be some kind of stew and what looks like radish fries (is that what those are?). Thanks for sharing!
