Hey, although this seems like I'm promoting this, which in a way I guess I am, check out a whole bunch of videos from a little place where a kid could be a kid, back in the 1980's.

Go to you tube and type in showbiz pizza.

And for those of you who were too young to remember this place, ya missed out on some fun! The place beats Chuck E Cheese anytime.

I've been there before, but what's the difference between the two places besides the mascots?

The only big difference would be the bands.

Showbiz Pizza had fully sized characters on three stages that had a ton of movements. That and they played a lot of older type music to get people interested in the show, like doing a tribute to The Monkeys, a tribute to The Blues Brothers, doing The Beatles Abbey Road album, singing Get Ready from the group Rare Earth, singing the birthday song from The Beatles, singing The Magic Touch by The Platters, etc.

The band at Chuck E Cheese only had limited movements and weren't fully sized at all. The bottom half of the characters bottoms would be covered up, like if they were at a balcony, and the character would only be shown from the waist up. Plus, the characters didn't do that many songs nor did they try to do older rock songs like the Showbiz Pizza band did.

Check out this video. It compares Chuck E Cheese to Showbiz Pizza:
