Here's something you could try using the Punto Pattern to get a good basis for Morton's head shape. Glue up the Punto foam head without the mouthplates. Seal the exisitng mouth up, gluing the top lip to the bottom lip. Now turn the head on it's side, with the back of the head facing up. There's your headshape. Your neck hole would be placed about where the original mouth was. The point on the top of the original Punto head would serve as a nice base to attach the trunk.

The body could be made using the Punto head shape as well, or a very simple wedged foam body would work too.
