I am a bit dissappointed that the 35th anniversary special is so,.... lackluster looking. Especially compaired to those on the past. But at least it isn't as uneventful and anticlimactic as the 4000th episode was... El Elefante... big deal.
But in episode #4000 they had Destiny's Child (but only for like, 2 minutes)!

There were a few clips from Sesame Street Season 35 on EXTRA yesterday.

They had....
*Grover the Mail Carrier delivering a package to Oscar
*The Count's Number of the Day segment,in which the # of the day is 35
*Elmo and Norah Jones sing “Don’t Know Why ‘Y’ Didn’t Come,”

and they even showed the classic "Banana Sketch" with Ernie and Bert

There was even a clip from Elmo's World(from a few years ago)

There may have been others, but those are all I know.

And they even mentioned the 35th Anniversary special/35th season on TV Guide Channel.

They had these clips...

*Clip of the SS cast from the 35th Anniversary special
*Oscar reading a book(Trash Gordon I guess)
*Elmo and Ruben Studdard
*The Count and Julianne Moore in "Far From Seven"
*Dr.Feel asking Bob how he feels, and Bob says he's feeling hungry.
.....and those were all the clips I know of.There might have been others, but I was sure there were more.

Seeing as the special is only an hour long, they probably won't have SEVERAL flashbacks, they'll probably focus more on elmo than going back in time for the "golden oldies", b/c as it says in the article, "We are more focused on the future than in the past."
it's probably gonna be more bad than good. if i were a TV critic, i'd give it a 0

I do have a feeling that Elmo will somehow ruin this show for me, but I'm psyched anyway.

Although I am a fan of "classic" Sesame, I am looking forward to this special.

What I really want is DVDs from the first season, when I watched it as a kid.

I feel sorry for everyone making like its a bad thing. I hate when people start putting stuff down just because Elmo's there. I don't like him that much but he is a part of the SS Characters from the 80's and thats all I have to say. I can't wait for it.

A zero? Gee, that's being very pessimistic. Even if they just show the few older clips mentioned in the article, it'll be well worth an hour of my time.

I hear ya on that (even with the banana in your ear). I may not have grown up with Elmo, so I don't have quite the same connection to him as to other characters, but there are a lot of people who really love him!

I saw a promo for the Sesame 35th Anniversary special this morning on PBS.

They showed these clips......
*Clip of the entire SS cast(from the finale)
*Clip of Big Bird and Snuffy playing with the kids(looks like it was from Season 34)
*A clip of Mr.Hooper!(must be from the 70's or 80's,couldn't tell)
*Scene from Maria and Luis' wedding
*The Count,Cookie Monster,Herry Monster,Various Monsters and Elmo on the "Elmo's World" set

Those are all the clips I can remember.

Oh...and the special airs tonight!!!! :zany:
