I've gotten my son hooked on Sesame Street on PBS, but I just encountered 123 Sesame Street on Noggin. Can someone tell me what the difference is? I think 123 has a more limited set of muppets and a longer storyline, but I'm sure someone here has the comprehensive answer.

Thanks!

123 Sesame Street episodes are simply re-runs of regular Sesame Street episodes from PBS from 5 years ago.

Right now, 123 Sesame covers the 2000-2001 season, when the show's format was different - the street scenes were longer and ran through the entire show. Also, there were more classic segments still being used. The only caveat is that the shows are slightly edited from their original version so that Noggin can slip in skits and commercials at the end of each show.

** In my honest opinion, I think 123 Sesame Street is a superior show to regular Sesame Street. I don't like the new format.
