Sesame Street Season 56 to debut on Netflix and PBS; 90 hours of previous episodes coming exclusively to Netflix

Hey, guys, I have a question. Does anyone know if season 55 will still be run on PBS starting in September? I know with the new Netflix deal season 56 should start this year on PBS and Netflix, but I guess we don't know exactly when yet so I'm wondering if PBS will do both season 55 and 56.

The reason I'm asking is I have a temporary subscription with Max and I watched the first 22 eps of season 55 already, but now I'm thinking of canceling my subscription because it's a little too costly for me and maybe just waiting until the rest of the season airs on PBS. Anyone have any info on this?

Daffyfan4ever, I'd recommend you err on the safe side, keeping your HBO Max suscription until Sesame Street Season 55 ends so you can be assured of watching all episodes of that season. After that, if you still think it'd be best, cancel the subscription so you can catch Season 56 either on Netflix or PBS. If, on the other hand, it's a matter where you have to decide on the matter right now, well, maybe other people can help with the info you need to make a clearer decision. Hope this helps.

The thing is, I don't think it's 100% confirmed that the season is coming out this year, and even if pbs somehow doesn't air it i'm pretty sure it's gonna immediately move to netflix anyway so imo it's not worth keeping your subscription i'd say.

Well, I don't have a subscription to Netflix either, so that would present a problem if the rest of season 55 doesn't air on PBS.

Best solution might be to request a Netflix gift card for my birthday. (Now I may be a bit embarrassed to ask my parents for that just to watch "Sesame Street." Though they do have other good shows such as "Fuller House" and "Anne of Green Gables," so that would be a possibility.)

Okay so I now know for fact that the first 4 episodes of season 56 will debut on PBS on 11/10. I think I read on Muppet Wiki that there will be 3 batches of episodes, and the first batch will consist of 4. I don't know if I've said this before, but I would not be surprised if they went down to 12 episodes per season. I don't know if/when Season 55 will start airing on PBS.

My station (KERA) will premiere Season 55 on November 17th while the first 4 S56 episodes will premiere from November 10th to the 13th

The trailer came out today and it turns out it will be the same as last season except for the tales of 123 segment added in.

It still hasn't said which (if any) classic episodes will be available.

It was announced that classic episodes are coming to YouTube in January, Netflix I assume is probably gonna have every episode from Season 46 onwards.
