Episode 1839 - Goodbye, Mr. Hooper
HBO Max Premiere: Wednesday May 27, 2020
Gordon sees Forgetful Jones is happy about something. Slowly, he remembers why: the sun is out, the breeze is blowing gently, and his heart beats. Forgetful Jones cannot believe he forgot what makes him happy. Gordon sees Big Bird with his head between his legs, which he does "just because". Big Bird hears the adults talk about the new baby, Leandro. Later, Big Bird gives out his drawings of all the adults. One is of Mr. Hooper. Big Bird asks when he'll be back. The adults explain to Big Bird that he died and will not be back. Big Bird doesn't understand. The adults further explain death and comfort Big Bird. He puts the picture of Mr. Hooper by his nest. The adults show baby Leandro to Big Bird. He comments that babies are amazing since they are not there one day and are there the next.
