Scene 1: Susan, Gordon, and the kids play a game where the adults clap rhythms and ask the kids to echo the patterns by clapping. Then they introduce the next segment.

Muppets/Song: The Anything Muppets perform a handclapping and scat-singing number (“Clap Clap”)

Film: A grasshopper (harpsichord music)

Cartoon: Two men stand atop a letter V and discuss its importance

Scene 2: Luis has to step out of the Fix-It Shop for a quick errand. He asks the Count to watch the shop while he’s gone. After Luis leaves, the Count wonders what he can count in the shop. He briefly considers nuts, bolts, or planks of wood. Then the phone starts ringing and the Count starts counting each ring!

Cartoon: A cat catches a telephone and eats it (animation by the Hubleys)

Film: Where the buffalo roam

Scene 3: The Count has counted 45 telephone rings, when Luis returns. He asks why the Count didn’t answer the phone, and the Count explains that he’s been counting the rings. Luis answers the phone, and the caller says that it’s for the Count. Once the Count takes the phone, he starts counting the minutes that he’s on the phone!

Muppets: Bert has purple paint on his hand and can’t go on a trip with Ernie. Ernie tries to cover it up with a mitten, which leads to another mitten and other articles of clothing. Once Bert is dressed in winter clothing, Ernie says that they are now going to the beach.

Scene 7: The Count is watching Hooper’s Store, feeling bored. He remarks how much fun he had watching the Fix-It Shop and counting how many times the telephone rang. Suddenly, Hooper’s telephone rings and the Count counts the telephone rings all over again. Gordon announces the sponsors. SS sign still: Oscar and the Count. CTW sign still: Big Bird.

Big Bird returns the glasses, and Mr. Hooper is pleased with his work.

Just when I thought there was light at the end of the tunnel…”

Scene 3: Oscar shows Bob a musical instrument that he invented and built. When he plays it, he produces a horrible sound. Bob inspects it and discovers that the slide is jammed, the pipes are dented, and the keys are sticky. Bob tells him that his instrument is complete trash, which Oscar takes as a compliment.

Muppets: Simon Soundman wants to buy a trumpet at the music store, but the manager keeps bringing out the wrong instruments

Cast: Luis plays a ringmaster whose assistant (Linda) demonstrates “before and after” in various slapstick scenarios. At the end, Linda throws a bucket of water in Luis’s face to get even.

Scene 4: Gordon sees Biff holding a string that is hanging in midair. Biff asks Gordon to hold the string while he takes a coffee break at Hooper’s, and Gordon obliges. Naturally, Gordon wants to know what the string does, but Biff leaves before he can ask. Gordon tugs the string lightly, but nothing happens. He pulls again, but it stays put. Gordon yanks the string, and a shutter falls over the screen, cutting to black.

Cartoon: A mouse tries looking for his pet, describing to his friend what they did yesterday

Muppets: The Anything Muppet Cheerleaders lead a “K” cheer

Cartoon: Elephants have four legs

Scene 5: The Count has a cold. Susan points out that he is carrying a box that contains dozens of tissues. The Count explains that he wants to count his sneezes AND the tissues that he uses after each sneeze!

Scene 6: Susan suggests that the Count should recover at home. The Count is reluctant, but Susan suggests that he drink orange juice and count the cups. He tells Bert that he needs them if the power goes out, if it rains indoors, and if a man asks for a bowling ball to compete in a tournament. Maria disproves this, so Sherlock moves on. Next he sees Luis pouring a glass of milk for a kid and says that Luis is a cow. Luis tells Sherlock to keep looking. Finally, Sherlock spots Gladys the Cow, but because she is wearing a costume for a rehearsal Sherlock deduces that Gladys is a rooster.

Muppets: Ernie gives Bert a physical

Muppets: Kermit calls a plumber to fix the sink. The plumber is none other than Grover, who displays wrenches of increasing sizes (big, bigger, and biggest). Unfortunately, the repair fails and the house floods.

Season 8: Playing with newspapers/Grover relays messages between Gordon and Mr. Hooper

Scene 1: Oscar spots a crumpled newspaper lying on the ground. Susan walks down the street and sees the newspaper at the same time. They argue over who saw it first. Eventually, Susan lets Oscar have the newspaper, thinking that he’ll recycle it for her. But Oscar uses it as confetti for a party. The shreds of paper come flying out of the trashcan and land all over the sidewalk, to Susan’s chagrin.

Scene 4: Mr. Hooper asks Grover to give Gordon a message: he needs help moving some heavy boxes in the store. Grover finds Gordon, who is busy washing his car. Gordon asks Grover to tell Mr. Hooper that he can’t help, but he could use an extra sponge from the store. Grover goes back to the store, where Mr. Hooper tells Grover that the sponges cost 50 cents per 4-pack. The messaging continues and Grover runs back and forth until the men see each other across the street and decide to talk in person. Grover faints from exhaustion.

Muppets: Ernie approaches Bert, talking rapidly. Bert tells Ernie to speak slowly so that he can understand what he’s saying. When Ernie calms down, he reveals that Bert’s bread is burning in the toaster, which causes Bert to speak in the same frantic manner as Ernie did before!

Once Gordon and David leave, the guys devise a secret plan to put Oscar and Maria’s wills to the test.

These are pretty good outlines for what I refer to as "Fantasy Sesame Street". I hope the creator of this thread will consider me creating a new thread for classic Sesame Street fan fics.

Reason is because I am considering developing a computer program in Visual Studio that can generate data for segments flowing in the same pattern as in the early 1980s (with no back-to-back segment types i.e. cartoons, muppets, cast, etc.). Once Iget the program developed, I will be able to generate old school outlines with just one click of a mouse.
