Season 9: Simon Soundman’s birthday

Sponsors: D, F, 9


Scene 1: Susan welcomes the viewer when she hears Biff scream. She finds Biff holding his finger and she asks what’s wrong, but Biff stifles his pain. Ultimately, he can’t keep it in and he says he hit his finger with his hammer. As Biff goes on about the pain, Susan gets a bandage roll from her purse and wraps his finger. After she interrupts Biff to point out what she’s done, Biff sheepishly thanks her. Susan goes on her way, when she hears a crunch and another howl from Biff: “SUSAN! I just hit my hand! OWWW-EEEE! Hellllllp!”

Muppets: Ernie has strings tied around his fingers, and explains to Bert that he did it to remind himself that there’s string tied around his fingers. Then Ernie reveals that he’s all out of string and needs to buy some more.

Scene 6: Oscar asks David to help with a demonstration of wet and dry. David is suspicious, but Oscar promises to not soak him. Oscar says that David is dry. Then Oscar dives into his pool to get wet. He descends for a VERY long time, prompting David to look into the trash can. As soon as he looks down, Oscar lands in the pool and the water splashes up into David’s face. Oscar: “Now I’m wet!” David (through clenched teeth): “And so...am...I!”

Muppets: The Count counts letters that he’s written to himself

He points out the number of sides on each shape (circle, triangle, square, and rectangle) and identifies an object in his trash can that shares the same shape (a scratched record, a moldy pizza slice, a cracked picture frame, and a ripped newspaper). As Oscar does this, he tosses each shape and object onto the ground, which Gordon objects to. He also promises Gordon that he has to show him the best shape of all…

Cartoon: Christopher Clumsy talks about shapes

Muppets: Herry Monster and Grover look for triangles, but they only find a rectangle and a square. Grover tells Herry to cut the square into two halves so that they become triangles.

Cartoon: A woman fixes her car by putting an “R” under the hood, making it go, “Rrrr…”

Scene 2: Oscar’s shape collection has piled up, and Gordon finally snaps, pointing out the mess on the street (a tire, a bicycle wheel, a torn pillow, a flattened cardboard box, a rusty “STOP” sign, and wire coat hangers are among the debris). Oscar argues that he’s just shown Gordon the best shape of all: a pile!

Muppets: Lefty the Salesman shows Ernie a painting of four elephants (silhouettes hidden in the empty spaces between the branches of a tree). Impressed, Ernie buys the painting and tries to trick Bert with it, but Bert immediately notices the elephants.

Scene 7: Big Bird says he’s pulled out all the stops, and the kids enter with a live pony. Mumford frets that his rabbit is gone for good, when his hat starts to move. The rabbit was under his hat all along! Big Bird is disappointed that they went through all this trouble, but Mumford points out all the fun that the kids are having with the baby animals. To nobody’s surprise, each item costs one cookie. Gordon and Bob go to Hooper’s Store to buy two cookies as Cookie Monster prepares their food.

Scene 3: Bob and Gordon return with two cookies, but their food trays are littered with crumbs. Cookie Monster confesses that he got so hungry that he ate their food after he finished making it. Scene 1: Big Bird finishes reading “The Pied Piper of Hamlin” to Mr. Snuffleupagus and the kids. Snuffy remarks that hearing that story makes him want to play his snuffle-flute. Big Bird and the kids want to hear this, so Snuffy gets out his snuffle-flute and plays it while Big Bird and the kids dance. Susan and Olivia walk by Big Bird’s doors and they assume the music is coming from Big Bird’s radio.

Cartoon: Q is for Quarter (voice by Casey Kasem)

Muppets: Big Jeffy, Grover, and a Lavender Muppet woman do some scat-singing

Then Susan’s pot begins to boil over, and Susan remembers that she was making a hard-boiled egg! Sherlock congratulates himself on his “work” as Susan runs to lower the flame on the stovetop.

Great outline as usual man, I know this is a longshot but could I suggest an outline idea
