I figured I should post one of my parody lyrics here on MC, since this one is an homage to the world's most famous street, set to John Mellencamp's classic, Jack and Diane. Read it and weep.

Little ditty about Sesame Street
On TV ‘bout 40 years, that’s quite a feat
Big Bird was the show’s 7 foot icon
Until Elmo came along with his “Elmo’s World” song

Oscar livin’ in the trash, acting like a grouch
Grover’s got, what, a few dozen jobs; boy he’s not a slouch
Ernie say, “Hey, Rubber Duckie, I’m awfully fond of you.”
He goes off to the bathtub, that’s what rubber duckies do
And say a

“Oh yeah, sunny days
Long after the clouds are swept away.”
“Oh yeah, sunny days
Long after the clouds are swept away.”
A let’s go

Bert tries to relax while his roommate’s a bathin’
Ernie wants to have a game of tag, Bert’s not playin’
Cookie Monster must really have a serious problem
But you know The Count’s obsession really got him
A bit beat but

“Oh yeah, sunny days
Long after the clouds are swept away”
“Oh yeah, sunny days
Long after the clouds are swept away.”

Gotta give ‘em cred
And give props
Because even now
This series’s still in the tops
It doesn’t matter if I’m young or old
I’m gonna keep watching ‘till I’ma growin’ mold

“Oh yeah, sunny days
Long after the clouds are swept away”
“Oh yeah, sunny days
Long after the clouds are swept away”

Can you tell me where’s Sesame Street?
There’s a lot of Muppets there that I’d like to meet.

Very nice! Great song and great parody lyrics.
I particularly liked the chorus- Sesame Street! 40 years of Sunny Days and still counting! And whenever I can, I'm still watching.:wisdom:

In keeping with the John Cougar Mellencamp theme, next you could write about little brown caves - Ain't that, uh, Fraggle Rock? Yes, indeed!:excited:::coy:

I haven't heard that one, but if I do, I may do a Fraggle nod, maybe multicolored caves?

I love this, almost as much as I love the version Weird Al sang on the Simpsons (or the one I’m writing for the Harrisverse).

That is awesome. Love it! And I love that it parodies "Jack and Diane" (one of my favorite 80's songs).
