Sesame Street classic episodes on Tubi

I really can’t say I’m impressed, nor did I expect to be. All of the episodes were on HBO Max, in fact there’s even some episodes missing. I’m guessing those will be the ones that will be rotated with others. But quite frankly, I am more impressed with the YouTube uploads (assuming they will continue them). I can’t even see the point of this if they’ll be on YouTube, or vice versa.

Wow, and HBO Max put classic episodes on so soon after an Ellen DeGeneres segment was included on the DVD release of Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary Celebration. Surprised they didn't just cut her scene (more surprised they otherwise included the whole season).

So what exactly is stopping a lot of these episodes from being released? I'd assume it has something to do with music rights or footage being lost. But something like season 26 only has 1 available episode on Tubi, even though earlier seasons have more.

All of the stuff about Ellen came after the 50thAC DVD release though (March 2020)

Wow, I thought that was an April Fool's joke until I saw them on Tubi for real. Definitely exciting news. I know a lot of them hit YouTube and Dailymotion, but this is definitely the best way to watch the eps in order.

Had a look at the Tubi list of episodes and the list is literally the same as what HBO Max used to have, minus some episodes like the Big Bird President episode.

My only guess is that the ones that are currently missing on Tubi will be included in the next quarterly batch of episodes in July {especially since the show will be removed from Tubi in a year anyway...}

It would be a little cool if when they swap episodes, they have a little focus on certain characters when choosing (of course they're most likely not choosing episodes based on whether the same fan favorites are in them). Like if all episodes in the next batch included some Biff and Sully sketches, or if they all had Sherlock Hemlock (including most of his few street appearances), or if they were to do a batch of episodes where Dr. Nobel Price appears (either in street scenes or News Flash inserts).

Seasons 36-38 were complete (aside 4140 which wasn't included due to (i guess?) Ellen's appearance) when released on HBO Max prior to August 2022

Today I watched the season 30 episode where a garden is built, and the Tubi version leaves in The Alphabet Song, which features Ellen DeGeneres among the celebrities. Don't know if it's different when it's just a small part vs. a starring role in a segment, but she's not completely left out of the classic episodes.

I noticed on Episode 3226 (at least when it was previously on HBO Max), when the sponsors were announced at the end of the show ("R", "Y" and the number zero), the zero actually displayed as the letter O. I wonder why they used a letter O instead of an actual number zero?

I realized why they used the letter O for the number zero in Episode 3226. It was because the previous two episodes, 3224 and 3225, were both brought to you by the letter O (as found on Muppet Wiki), and Episode 3225 was also brought to you by the letter Y. It was probably time efficient to recycle an O (used as a zero) and a Y, and only retrieve one character - the letter "R". I wonder if they did this due to time constraints?
