Wow, I didn't realize some have actually gotten such unkindness from others about talking about or still liking and/or watching SS.

The worst I've gotten is some looks that are a little weird or some light laughter that border on the ridiculing kind.

Like Fozzie and others say, a pox on what others think, of course! But, while so true in theory, not always easy in practice for folks like me who are highly sensitive and struggle with feeling inferior to people.

Foo :stick_out_tongue:. I was just talking to my best friend about the Snuffy's parents getting a divorce episode and how it really left me feeling sad when I was little and he gave me a 'just get over it' and 'it's kids like you who got so many things taken off tv for taking them to seriously' talk. Argh, talking about SS outside of here is awful :frown:

Wow, and you even said it left you feeling sad when you were little. That's too bad.

It's like, when I watch that scene to this day when Big Bird is struggling to face and deal with Mr. Hopper's death, it brings me to tears. But I guess if I shared that with some people out of here they'd think I was silly for getting choked up from SS. But hey, it was well done and moving and TRUE TO LIFE. The brilliance of SS can impact and move us just as any show would. Just because it has some muppets and cartoons in it and just because it's a "kid's show" doesn't change what the actual material is. Heck, "The Flintstones" has made me cry before too. Like when Fred was crying when he thought Dino was gone. And when Fred was deeply sad because he felt Pebbles didn't love him anymore. Now just because he's a cartoon character I'm not supposed to be as moved as I would with a human actor in a show or movie? Hogwash.
