Sesame DVD Sound Quality

I just picked up some Sesame Street DVDs from the library for my son, and was planning on buying one that was a hit with him.

But after playing a couple of them, I'm wondering: do some of these early DVDs have pretty awful sound quality? I'm thinking specifically of "Sing Yourself Silly" and "The Best of Elmo," which sound as if they were dubbed from a worn VHS copy, with heavy treble and lots of clipping.

I'm curious because my library obviously has the first-run DVD issues. I notice in the store that these now come in nicely redesigned cases, so I was wondering if they cleaned up the quality as well.

Thanks!

They don't fix the quality. But most them sound fine. The worst of the bunch is The Best of Elmo. These re-releases are the VHS footage and audio transferred to DVD. They're not fixed up. The Best of Elmo suffers terribly from this sound problem.
