September 24: Celebrating Jim Henson and Steve Whitmire

As Muppet fans know, September 24 is a special day in Muppet history. Not only is it Jim Henson's birthday (he would've been 89 today), but it is also Steve Whitmire's birthday who would take over for Jim Henson as Kermit the Frog beginning in 1990 through 2016. In honor of these two wonderful men, celebrate life and the people who make a difference in yours.

Happy Birthday Jim and Steve!

I'd like to post this video here, if I may, as a tribute to Jim, who gave Kermit his soul, to Steve, whose own work with Muppets was a lifelong tribute to his mentor, and to a great friend I never met, who pointed me to this video years ago:

This is a promotional interview for The Muppets (2011) Kermit gave to a German radio station. The interview is in two languages, and I must admit, it's a lot of fun to just watch Kermit being alive while his answers are translated to German.
