Well, there was a couple of bizarre things on "Sesame Street" that kind of freaked me out. Like Limbo, The Organized Mind. Jim Henson provided the voice for a skit on The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson, but some creepy-sounding VA did the same character on "Sesame Street."

I remember watching a "Sesame Street" episode, in which Big Bird told Maria that he had a nightmare about feather-dusters that came alive, and she told him about a nightmare Cookie Monster had, in which he was at a cookie store, and there were these cookies that were alive and taunted him to eat him. This one did not gave me nightmares, but it was pretty freaky. I can not think of anymore.

When I was little I had The Christmas Toy on tape. I used to watch it all the time. But at the same time it was really scary, with all the dark hallway shots and the toys being frozen and all. As much as I liked it, it really used to bother me Lol. I'm not positive but I think I actually taped it over for that reason (Yeah that was brilliant!)

But I've seen it again recently and it doesn't bother me as much now (Not being 5 years old helps!). It's really a great Christmas special; I think the scary parts only enhance the story and make you care about the characters more.

I loved the Inchworm skit, but oddly enough I used to be scared of the Andy Williams Muppets in the "Jubilee Time" segment.

Me too. Especially Gorgon Heap. I used to have to close my eyes during the "Inchworm" skit with Lenny.
Lucky for me that the video I have that sketch on gets all distorted at that point.:smile:

Lemme help you out, then;

Gorgon moves behind Lenny and bites down, causing the lizard's legs to fly up, then seems to pull Lenny off the wall. I can't remember if he was swallowed or not.

I was always alarmed when a character was eaten, but not scared. The only sketch that scared me was when Kermit grew fangs, then bit Vincent.

The Twiggy episode-it was the phantom of the muppet show backstory...broadcast in the uk around christmas time. I found it supprsingly sinister considering the general tone of content in the show at that time. I remember thinking -"well thats christmas ruined then!":smile:

From the Muppet Show: The Crystal Gayle episode in which she is standing and singing this very haunting tune and those white ghost puppets with the human-esque faces come swirling in and just float and swoosh around her. I hated that as a kid, but I haven't seen it in many years and would be curious to see it again to see how I react.

Also from TMS, the character with a black body and a white elongated beak with its eyes as black dots or holes. Freaky to look at, but not run from the room scary.

The Flamingo from Sesame Street, the character that Richard Hunt performed, kindly scared me. It was just his face. I know it's weird. But I do remember him and how creepy he kindly looked. But he's a fun character. Can anyone tell me what his name was? And what ever happened to him after the years and after Richard passed away? Have you seen him since the 90's??
