The evil trio is nothing new, I would not hate Team Rocket just because of that.

Time Bokan (and the Time Bokan series) is pretty much from the mid 70's. Plus, I'm also kinda half kidding.

When it comes to anime, I like the classics, myself. Stuff from the 80's especially. Unfortunately, we only get the newest of the new stuff. Look how unsuccessful Saint Seiyia was when we finally got it. Of course, there are many current ones I like... One Piece especially. And Nerima Daikon Brothers (too bad it only lasted 12 episodes).

Pokemon I didn't mind initially, but when Kid's Wb blanketted the schedual with it, it was annoying.

Wait, wait you guys. If they were still showing cartoons on Saturday anymore, you know good and well that you would be complaining about the quality of the cartoons that wee on. Quality does not come in quantity.
Yes AND no. problem is there isn't room fro growth in cartoons anymore. You have to make something that's an instant toy selling smash (since toy money's the only way to assure a cartoon makes money, due to wacky FCC regulations), or at least something cheap to produce.

Kid's WB's problem is that they kept coming out with derivitive crap like Loonatics and Coconut Fred instead of taking the chance, making something original and enjoyable. While The Batman was moderately successful (and could have used a 6th season while the Dark Knight came out- but was canned after the regulation fifth season), all their current shows have been under the gun for coming out just as they decided to stop making TV cartoons. I was no fan of Legion of Superhweroes until season 2, when it got interresting... but it never got season 3 (it would have been a smash had it gone to a third season).

Disney's is the fact that they own a million stations, and don't want to create programming to compete with itself. We need another OSM, like pooh suggessted. Those shows appealed to pre-tweens all the while, being watchable to cartoon fans well over that age. Pepper Ann was a great female role model. I keep hearing how they lack possitive female role models, all the while neglecting that cartoon ever existed. And you didn't even have to be a gal to enjoy it. Characters like Milo and Principle Hicky (voiced by Don Adams) made the show just as appealing in a gender neutral way. And Recess? I felt that was a smart show, and a great film.

NBC doesn't care. Qubo? Come on.

And CBS I give huge ammounts of credit to. They're one of the only main broadcasters (big Three, NBC, CBS, and ABC) that has original programming. Unfortunately it has to adhear to that rediculous 3 hours of TV EI programming nonsense, but Dic's actually spending money to make shows here. Not just cheap rerun hand me downs from cable.

There's this basic network called MY Network TV. I was always hoping they'd start their own Saturday Morning block like how FOX and WB did when they first started out. But it looks like they don't plan to. MY TV does show old DIC cartoons on weekday mornings. Mainly I think it's because so they can fulfill the FCC's E/I rules.

Still a lot better than my used to be UPN. They run crap like 1990's nature shows, "B in tune" and a bunch of others done on the cheap. Dagnabbit. Even the old DIC cartoons sound good.

Of course, the channel that My Tv became a few years ago (which I didn't get) had Super Mario Super Show on for a long time. But that was weekday mornings, and it was back in the mid 90's.

And now sans WWE Smackdown! (which will move back to Thurday nights & be broadcast on My Network TV, ironically), the CW's daily block has become a rerun haven for Friends, Two & a Half Men, and shows like 'em (with The Simpsons & Family Guy as the two cartoons to air). In short, it's more daily WB! and UPN, but with the same drivel on all the time.

Word is is that The CW might be going completely under pretty soon. They already can not run their Sunday programs own their own. Oh well, I guess like five networks wouldn't be so bad. But Kids WB is going to become or already is its on broadband network with shows they don't even air anymore.

Yeha. That was a big mistake. They want to make themselves known as a women's network, and as such, are slashing anything that isn't a reality Tv show or some crap that appeals to 20 year old shallow women (Gossip Girls, 90210). They got rid of the High rated Smackdown, and the money making high rated Kid's WB....

I guess since the WWE Draft (with Mysterio, Punk, Kane, Cole, & Batista on RAW; Triple H, Umaga, Jim Ross, Jeff Hardy, etc. on SD!; and Matt Hardy on ECW), the "E" wanted to branch out, because the move of SD! was a joint decision from the "E" and The CW.

If CW does get canceled, I guess that means my local station, Channel 27, that carries it will go back to being a regular independent station just like in the old days.
