MFC new UK edition DVD

Is this version edited???
Muppet Family XMMAS UK DVD

I want to get a region free DVD player and this plus my Widescreen Italian DVD of MTI will be the kick in the pants I need!

Yes. It's missing the tree-lighting scene, and the bit with Fozzie's stocking.

I don't remeber a tree lighting bit, and I have seen the non editied version. Hm...

There are three different cuts of the show:

- The original 1987 broadcast version, which runs to about 48 minutes and includes breaks for the commercials. This hasn't been seen since the late 80s; the only recordings of it I've been able to track down (so far) all come from the original broadcast on December 16, 1987.

- A re-edited version, done in either 1988 or 89, which runs to about 47 minutes. It removes the commercial breaks by dissolving between scenes (and in at least one place, removing some background music), and also omits the two scenes I mentioned above. This is the version that gets aired today, and is the version available on home video in the UK since 1989.

- The US home video cut, which simply removes a number of songs from the second edit. It runs to about 42 minutes.
