etc. etc. etc.
I've said this once (or prolly more) and I'll say it again... you have an AWESOME music taste, Tony!
I also like many of the one-hit wonders of this era, too. Stuff that can be found in compilations such as AM Gold and Have a Nice Decade.
I like one-hit wonders too. And there's tons of songs I love that nobody's really familiar with by bands that not too many people have heard of. Even though they're not all that well-know though I still think they're brilliant!
BTW, Kiki (puts nerd cap on),
American Graffiti was George Lucas's
second feature, following the futuristic
THX-1138 In fact, the character of John Milner in
Graffiti has a markerplate on his car, which reads THX-1138. But yeah,
Graffiti is one of my favorite films, and it does have an awesome soundtrack. It was one of the first American films, actually, to be made up exclusively of popular, existing music. Martin Scorsese's
Mean Streets (released the same year) also featured a soundtrack made up entirely of oldies (or what are now considered oldies), although that film was set in the present day.
Oh. Really? I thought it was set in 1962 or something. And it wasn't his first film? Perhapes I'm thinking of Steven Spielburg's film 'Duel', which I think was his first film. Or maybe I wasn't... well, thanks for correcting that anyway, I don't wanna put anyone on the wrong track!
And yes, the sountrack is brill. I actually have the original records, about five or four different ones, which were my dad's. I listen to them still and they're in great nick!
(I also have a record called something along the lines of 'Fonzie's Greatest Hits' which is a compliation of tunes from the rock 'n' roll era!)
Did somebody call for a girl born in the wrong decade?
It's true. I should've been born in the baby boomer genereation. Heck, even my MOM says that I was born in the wrong decade.
Anyway... One of my favorite singers is Elvis. I like some of the Beatles as well (we're doing a medly of their songs for a choir concert tomorrow). I also like Bill Halley and his Comets, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis... erm... a little of everyone, actually.
Oh, and a bit of trivia for you Sha Na Na fans: They were Johnny and the Casinos in the movie "Grease". Just so you'd know. (If you already knew it, then nevermind.)
~ AnimatedC (is glad I found this thread)
Really? Coolness!
And I'm the same, I think I'm born in the wrong decade and so does my friends and family. They think I might've been a hippie in the 60s and 70s in my last life- LOL!
I wish I was a baby boomer... but yeah, I can't do much about it now, eh? Oh well, hi-five!
Yeah..SNN performed at Woodstock. In fact,I think they got their start there. Not sure if they did Teen Angel at Woodstock though.I'll need to check.
Yeah, I'm not certain if they performed it at Woodstock, but they definatly did a cover of Teen Angel.
