Just found out Ron Palillo, who played Arnold Horshack on "Welcome Back Kotter", passed away today. He was 63. (That made him 26 playing a 10th-grader on tv, which was really stretching things a bit).

Back in the 70's, "Kotter" was must-see tv on Thursday nights (followed by "Barney Miller"), and gave John Travolta his first major exposure, before he really catapulted to superstardom in Saturday Night Fever and Grease.

Thanks for four seasons of laughs, Ron. Now if only I still had my Kotter lunchbox...

Frank Coniff, of MST3K fame, posted this on Twitter: "Gonna miss Arnold Horshack, funny Sweathog and dependable MST3K/Cinematic Titanic reference. Rest In Peace, Ron Palillo."

26 playing 16...eh...Hollywood's done that so many times it's pathetic. I wasn't a "Kotter" fan but knew enough to get the reference whenever someone brought it up. But yeah, RIP, man.

I can't believe this, another Sweathog gone. I loved Kotter back in the '90s on Nick at Nite. Rest in Peace, Ron.
