I see nobody has posted this, but today, we lost Peter Sallis.

He was a familiar face to Englanders for the numberous roles he played in film and television as far back as the late 50s/early 60s, but for people outside the U.K., they probably remember him more for his voice and memeworthy little British colloquialisms as Wallace from the WALLACE & GROMIT films.

Sallis was also the voice of James Bloggs in When the Wind Blows, which I just watched last month and highly recommend. And what a long productive life he lived before passing away of natural causes at 96, though he continued to do acting work for a few years after developing macular degeneration around 2005.

Hopefully there will be plenty of cheese and crackers in heaven for Mr. Sallis.

And speaking of wind, Sallis also voice Rat in The Wind in the Willows, a really fun show that I love. Loved the guy's voic, sad to hear him pass, but he had a long fulfilling life. RIP.
