Oh no. Not Darren McGavin
I loved his role as supernatural investigator on Kolchak:the Night Stalker.
I admired him for that classic series. Now whenever I watch my Kolchak DVD's they'll be a memorial to a remarkable man.
Only he could have possibly played Carl Kolchak so excellently. May he RIP

Much to my pleasant surprise, last week, here in the USA, the Sci-Fi cable channel aired at least two Kolchak:The Night Stalker episodes. I hadn't seen them in years. They were good!

I don't see them listed this week though.

I will always remember him as the Father from A Christmas Story, which airs on TV every Christmas. I haven't really seen him in anything else, but I think he did a really good job in that role playing the old fashioned rough around the edges father. RIP Darren
