RIP Andy Rooney and Sid Melton

Two greats have left us. Legendary and lovably grumpy 60 Minutes commentator Andy Rooney passed away at age 92: http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20540043,00.html

The other is a character actor who had a long and varied career: Sid Melton, who was 94. I will always remember him as Sal, Sophia's loving but sometimes frustrating husband on "The Golden Girls": http://www.datalounge.com/cgi-bin/iowa/ajax.html?t=10999995#page:showThread,10999995

For me, Sid Melton will be remembered as Alf, half of Alf and Ralph the carpenter :"brothers" from Green Acres (though he also had a guest spot in one of the first episodes as an interior decorator before he became Alf)... those two NEVER finished the Douglas' place,
