His musical style represented the true spirit of SS to me.

The 2nd muppet movie, The Great Muppet Caper, was scored completely by Raposo. It's worth checking out for the "Couldn't We Ride" segment alone. It was one of the best songs he ever wrote, and it would have easily worked as a SS film segment back in the day. I wish I had a recording of Joe singing the song. There was an old film of his on SS called "Water Baby" that was somewhat similar musically.

Yes, Joe Raposo was one of the most talented songwriters in the world. I loved his work on Sesame Street, Electric Company, and the songs from the Raggedy Ann and Andy movie. Especially the, Blue, song which was also sung on the Muppet Show by the talented Helen Reddy.

I'll miss Joe.

One of the upcoming projects I'm working on is a compilation of Joe Raposo songs on DVD. I also can make an audio counterpart of the Joe Raposo songs that appeared on the Sesame Street albums throughout the years. If you guys support this, and would like a copy, it would give me the incentive to start on it right away!

I've had a project like this going on for about two years (audio only). To date I currently have 47 instrumentals and 56 vocal tracks (9 of which are not Joe singing, but others). I still have about 10 more to record, I think, including "Five Dancers," "Alaskan Statues," "Swans" and "Nursing." So far, this project has received very little support, but it hasn't stopped me. :smirk:
