Remember this skit?

My favorite skit of all time from Sesame Street was when Forgetful Jones was singing in the musical O-klahoma, with Kermit the Frog directing. Every time the music began and the cows began their staged dancing, Forgetful Jones would dance to center stage and sing A-klahoma, E-klahoma, or I-klahoma, forcing Kermit to stop the song and tell him that it's Oklahoma, not A,E,I-klahoma. But Forgetful Jones keeps forgeting, forcing Kermit to lose his temper in a hilarious Muppet fashion.
Kermit: It's not AHH-klahoma!! It will never be AHH!-klahoma!!!
Forgetful: I'm sorry Mr. Frog! I'm trying my best!
Forgetful finally sings Oklahoma, but one of the stage crew members shouts "Cut! Cut!"
Kermit: What's wrong? He said it this time!
Forgetful: Yeah! I said it right that time!
Stage crew member: Sorry, but it's time for lunch.
[Everybody walks out, including Kermit with his trademark scowl on his face]
Forgetful: [To cow] But I got it right this time though!

That was Richard Hunt, Jim Henson and Sesame Street at it's best.

Yeah Kermit and Forgetful Jones were a funny combination. I always wondered why they weren't together more. Perhaps they would have been if Jim and Richard didn't pass on so soon They were a good team. I don't think I ever saw anyone get more angry with Forgetful Jones than Kermit. They were together 2 more times. Once in a similar skit to the one you just mentioned where Kermit was a director and they were making a Movie, and Forgetful was supposed to come through these big Western Sliding doors, but he went under, over, around etc., and there was a skit when Kermit and Forgetful were demonstrating how to answer the Telephone.

Yeah, they showed a clip of "Oklahoma" on "The Street We Live On" special. I also remember the one about the telephone. That was hilarious.

I had forgotten about that skit, but it all came back to me now! I thought that was hilarious when I first saw it!

Yeah, I love both those Kermit and Forgetful Jones movie making skits. They remind me of those Electric Company skits where Rita Moreno plays a frustrated movie director where her actors and actresses keep blowing their lines.

They did a similar sketch where they were filming a movie scene where Forgetful is supposed to go through the swinging doors of an old west saloon, and say "Everybody freeze!!!". Well, he goes around the doors, he goes under the doors and even tries to go over the doors. When he finally goes through the doors, he gets his line wrong and says "Everybody.....frolic!!!".

I used to love the telephone skit with Kermit & Forgetful Jones! It always killed me when Forgetful messed up Kermit's name, calling him "McDermit"!

God, even typing that made me laugh!!!!

lol, i remember watching that sketch when i was little, i loved it! I can vaguely remember forgetful Jones and kermit in it.
