these muppet monsters I think ripped off that green collar around Kermit's neck and he was all of a sudden embarassed to let everyone else see him without it. wonder why?

It was the gophers who stole Kermit's collar. It was the Crystal Gayle episode and the story was the gophers kept stealing everything in the theatre. It was funny when they stole Kermit's collar he ducked down and Scooter said "Gee boss, I've never seen you naked before".
