This really touched my heart. Im like crying. Dans (my fiance from the Air Force Academy) sent this to me. I dont want to start any contravercial discusion here, but this really isnt. NO matter what, wether you agree with the war or not, you have to be greatful for our troops, and the major sacrifices they and there familys make. Alot of people forget this. Mybe this just touches me so because of my Fiance and my familkys involvement in the Air Force. But I hope you all enjoy this. It may take a while to load (I have Dial up, and my compy is slow, took me 25 min, but WELL worth it)
 :sympathy:

I have a cousin who is over in Iraq right now and everytime I hear that another soldier has died, I feel like it could be him. I could never be a soldier. I can't be trained to do those kinds of things soldiers do every day.

I just returned from a trip to Germany where I visited my brother, who is in the Army. He lives on the Landstuhl base where the big hospital is. We brought over a bunch of cards that 1st and 2nd graders made, it was totally awesome. We also went on a view tours of other countries with a tour agency that the military uses and I met a lot of people that are on R&R from Iraq. It was really incredible to put a face and a name to "the soldiers in Iraq." We never talked about Iraq, but it was great to get to know these people. I also met a lot of spouses of people in Iraq, and WOW! What strong, courageous, and patient people. I'm not sure that I would be able to be seperated from my spouse for a year, knowing that they are out in the middle of Iraq. This Memorial Day definatly meant more to me.

I wonder what Bush has to say to all the hundreds of American kids younger than me that he's gotten killed...kids who just wanted to earn scholarship money and see the world...or the thousands of poor people killed. Its sad to see so many bright people pawns in Bush' selfish delusional war games.

My friend Brian just got back from Afghanistan not a week ago....I haven't seen him yet. I was so worried about him the whole time he was gone...I can't nearly imagine what it must be like for all those wives, husbands, and children out there who are waiting for their loved ones to return home...Or knowing their loved one never will. All my support and prayers go to the troops and their friends and family....May God bless them, and I cannot thank them enough for what they've done, and still do. It must demand a tremendous amount of sacrifice...

well, again I did not want to start anything, everything that is said on these froums are people personal opinions, cuz we all come from diffrent backgrounds and beliefs. I have my own opnion cuz my fiance is in the AF, and my whole family is some sort of military. I am not trying to force my veiews on anyone, but as far as bush goes, if nothing elce came form that war, those people are free from a horribe horrible man, now weater you think we should help those people in the first place or not, is something totaly diffrent, the fact is, thats what happend, thats what it happining, and those people are now free, so its a light spot out of the darkness. It is most unfortunet for all the deaths, but thats what you have to expect when you join the military, its what your job is, Service before self, thats how it has always been. Scolership money or not, those boys knew what they were sighning up for, to protect america. See the Air Force Academy workes the same way, yes they get a "free" education, BUT they do pay it back, with 9 years of there life (min) after grad, anything can happen. and I dont understand who would be crazy enough to do this (I could never do the military, even though I kida am by marring Dan) Dan trys to expalin it to me, cuz I dont know who im going to deal with him being deployed doing dangerous missions. But thats his dream, he told me that its a worthy cause to die, if anoter family is safe one more night for him dieing or just even going to work that day, then he feels he has done his part. Anyway, again I dont mean to offend anyone, I am very pro military, and will support my guys to the end, wether you agree with bush or not is your thing, my only point is that those guys didnt die for nothing, they did not die in vein, not as bushes pawns, they died for freedom, for others, as the millitary has been doing for as long as america has been here, and its a very nobel cause, very sad and tragic, but nobel

I believe Afghanistan was a just war, they attacked the US first...and then the US went in and actually succeeded at not only being good at not harming the civilians, but toppling the horrible regime that was there. I think this would have happened no matter who was in there.

Iraq however...how can anyone in the world much less the US defend the fact Bush and the administration went out of their way to lie in order to get into Iraq...that Iraq was not a response to 9/11, but planned since before Bush took office. When an innocent US civilian is beheaded on tv in front of the world, and hundreds upon hundreds of US kids younger than me are sent home in caskets...what does Bush tell the families?

There is a brave documentary called Fahrenheit 9/11 that pulls back the theatre curtain on Bush, his handling of post 9/11 America and Iraq.(of which Eisner has tried to block)

I actually might support the millitary when a day comes that its actually used with a clear head, and when the US apologizs for genociding close to a million Japanese in World War 2.

I truly think America has been blinded by Bush and his administration, as it is a scary thought to know Bush can use his "9/11" Card to pretty much do whatever he wants.

I think every American family that lost a loved one in Iraq should blame Bush, and make sure he is out of there come November. Perhaps if Bush had actually served, he might not be making light of human life.

yeah I agree with JediX, I said when I started this that this was not to be a debate about Bush, it was to Remember out troops that are giving there lives, I never said I support bush, nor did I say I didnt, all I said was that those military are not dieing in vein and the moment they are is when people dont give them credit for that. They are in Irac not cuz of 9/11 at all, but cuz of sadam and his "nanny nanny boo boo, im not telling you if i have wepons or not, guss youll just have to wait and see, I may have them, I may not, or im just hiding them" sorry, I dont want our lives played like that. He was an evil evil man who would kill his own people, test his weponry on them, it was bad. but anyway, Im done, Im sorry I had to put my 2 cince worth in it, but im so pationet about it, cuz I see the side of the familys and stuff, cuz I am.

ok, I can agree with that...aside from the weapons of mass destruction part(given there are none) I just dont like how this administration is abusing the power to send troops to whenever...as I can just imagine the future conflicts Bush we'll get us into if hes reelected. Everyone on the planet deserves to be free, but the means to that freedom sould be thought out more.
