Well, it could be, get rid of members with less than 10 posts who haven't been active in 6 months, or a year, or something like that. It would get rid of alot of dead names, and space. And alot of other forums have a policy where your account will be deleted if you don't get 10 posts by 60 days or something like that, so it wouldn't be something that's uncommon.
Of course, this is just me whining about this. If he hasn't gotten rid of any dead accounts in the 3-4 years this forum has been around, he probably has a good reason.

I think I'd be infavour of purging a lot of the non-posting members without a significant number of posts.
Already ahead of you there, I already have suggested it to Phillip quite sometime ago now. It is a good idea, plus there are many users who simply registered and never have posted. Those could be cleaned out as well.

My friend is trying to register on MC, but unfortunately we've encountered some problems. My friend's email address that we're registering with is from gmail, but when we clicked the register button it said "The administrator has banned your email address. To contact the administrator click here".

Now, why would the address be banned? Is it because it's gmail, and not an address like Rogers or Sympatico? I had a similar problem when I tried to sign up at first, but as I have more than one email, at least one of them worked.
Odd, I just switched to Gmail a short time ago and had to change my email for MC, everything went smoothly and the server didn't have any trouble processing the new address. I doubt it's because it's a Gmail account, sounds like a server error most likely.

That's how I turned from "Member" to "Registered User"
Yours now says "Senior Member" as it should.
