Shout is unveiling complete series plans

I have to admit, I didn't fully appreciate the show when it first came on, but after finding out what kind of humor it was capable of (in cases, stuff that you wouldn't believe got by the censors), I felt I needed to get my hands on this show. Hopefully this includes the YTV stuff NOT shown on ABC (the horror stories I have heard about ABC).

Plus, it's the first thing to come out of Shout in a LONG time that isn't an obscure 1980's or 70's sitcom.

Behold the pelvic gyrations of my victory boogie!

I'm one of the hardcore, old guard fans. I'm the perpetrator of Slack & Hash's Domain, which has a positively embarrassing amount of my fanart and fic and videos and User knows what else, and I finally have something new to put on the front page!

I'm taking the blurb about a line of ReBoot merchandise with a grain of salt, however. I've been in on Rainmaker's revival since before it was announced, and I just don't see them producing anything new to bring ReBoot back into the current era. But now, at least, I'll have decent copies of the classic eps!

*cough* I might already have it all downloaded and on dvds. It was a gift to me...

I want the NEW Reboot show to finally be properly announced. And Mike the TV better be in it, or I won't be a happy sprite.

No WONDER I've been daydreaming about ReBoot so heavily, LOL!

This is awesome news. I have a DVD set, but this was before I learned to read reviews of things, so I ended up with a crappy "look, I own a VCR" collection where only the third season can be viewed without freezing. Some episodes even came with the audio from other episodes instead of the correct ones. Boy, was I burned.

Anyway, I love ReBoot. I like to imagine what it'd be like to have a ReBoot/Tron crossover. I like to imagine the viruses nearly crashing ENCOM due to the 80s tech limitations, and Hex figuring computer systems will always be lame and boring and deciding to use the Digitizer to escape to the User World. I can dream, anyway ...

Yeah.. I honestly don't see why it took anyone so long to get this out there. Was their some silly rights thing that kept this from happening? Anyway, I'm glad it's coming out as a COMPLETE series. I've been burned too many times by partial series sets that get canceled due to lack of "interest" (yeah right  ) while seeing stuff get full sets that make you wonder if there ever WAS a demand for that stuff. This is one of the BIG fan geek cartoons out there that hasn't been fully awakened by anyone else. I'm Glad WB gave us Freakazoid (and barely anything else... good thing it was only 2 seasons) but so many of these studios say "Screw that!" and either hide their shows in a cave or give us, Oh at least it was something, releases.

That's where these lousy bootleg people (like the ones you clearly are talking about) cash in. And they do terrible jobs with them from what I hear. Still, you wonder... if someone not for profit put that stuff up online, they'd get it taken down immediately. Yet no legal action if you SELL them for profit?

As someone who didn't really give the show the chance I should have back when it first appeared, only to hear about what they actually DID on the show (a Pokemon parody called Pantsu-Hebi in a later episode... if you know basic pidgeon Japanese you KNOW what that means), I'm thrilled.

That webcomic was supposed to last 7 22-page issues and go to print. However, they pulled the plug less than halfway through, forcing the writer to wrap it up as best he could, which is why there are a lot of dangling threads after that "deus ex machina" ending.

If you go to the "creations" section of the ReBoot.com site you'll see the story I wrote for 'em. However, on the story page they misattributed my writing to the illustrator. Argh.

I remember watching Reboot some in the '90s. I honestly don't remember a whole lot about it but I enjoyed it pretty well. It was a fairly early example of CGI-based shows and it was pretty good in that department. Transformers: Beast Wars may have eclipsed it some, but both were pretty good series as far as animation goes.
