Reason Newsman bits cut from the Joel Grey ep.?

So if most of the stuff was cut because of song rights (including the intros to those skits with the songs -- which makes sense), then why were the two Newsman skits from the Joel Grey episode cut?

NEWSMAN Bit #1
He reports on the unfortunate demise of Boffo the human cannonball.

NEWSMAN Bit #2
Retired bus driver holds the state of New York hostage until he receives $50 million in cash.

...was there some image in there that was copyrighted? Or is this possibly a sign of Disney editing things out for "content" (someone "dying" and someone holding "New York hostage")? I hope that's not the case, as that could potentially be a bad sign for things to come...

Thoughts?

Thanks!

It's almost certainly a genuine error on Disney's part. The two sketches were added to the show some time after it was originally edited together - the tape that Germany broadcasts omits them, for example, and the second one was rather sloppily edited in. It seems likely that Disney were unaware of this, and hence didn't notice that the copy of the show they were using was the original edit. So it's not that they were "cut", simply that they were never there in the first place.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with political correctness. It wouldn't make sense since Crazy Harry is there blowin' stuff up all the time!

Thanks for the info! Yeah, it didn't make sense for them to be cut for PC reasons, but, then again, it *is* Disney...

Perhaps they'll include them in a future season release as a couple of Easter Eggs...
