Well I apologize if I did come across as somewhat cynical in my post Jacob.
But never the less in principle I must completely agree with JJ. We did not need a post relating to books when we already have the Last Book you read thread.

And as JJ said you made not just one excess book thread, but two.
If you want to start new threads the topics should be about discussions nobody else has started yet themselves.

I just read "Pomegranate Soup," by Marsha Mehran. It's set in a small Irish village during the mid-1980s, and it's the story of three sisters who settle there and open their own cafe, having just fled the revolution in Iran. It's an excellent book; got through it in one sitting.

~ I agree with you, Pork. There is a certain lyrical sense in the words he weaves. I love 'GREAT EXPECTATIONS' & 'A TAIL OF TWO CITIES'. I've read them and keep re-reading them & always will.

I have 6 books going right now. They are:

~ 'A DENSITY OF SOULS', by Christopher Rice (great book, re-reading)
~ 'NARCISSUS IN CHAINS', by Laurell K. Hamilton
~ 'THE SHINING', by Stephen King
~ 'THE BUTLERIAN JIHAD', by Brian Herbert & Kevin J. Anderson
~ 'CTHULHU 2000', Stories inspired by H.P. LOVECRAFT
~ 'THE HANDMAIDS TAIL', by Margaret Atwood (re-reading)
~ 'THE CINEMA OF FREDERICO FELLINI', by Peter Bondanella

I have these book waiting in the wings, ready to go into rotation:

~ 'GUIDED TOURS OF HE77', by Francine Prose
~ 'THE SNOW GARDEN', by Christopher Rice
~ 'PARTY MONSTER', by James St. James
~ 'THE BELL JAR', by Sylvia Plath (re-read)
~ 'I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGS', by Maya Angelou (re-read)
~ 'THE 12TH PLANET', by Zacheria Sitchin
