Does anyone know if Jim Henson ever created any rat characters for any of his programs/films?

There are the rats from MTM, as someone mentioned earlier. I don't know of any other ones.

Do you mean realistic looking rats? If so, I think, not sure, that there are some in 101 Dalmations, that JHC created. Other than that, don't know. Maybe in The Witches, but havn't seen that film.

Rats started appearing in TMS around season 4 or 5, one in particular was in charge of running out to get Kermit food.

Actually, if you look really close at all the rats after MTM. Rats in MCC, MTI, etc. Have the same characteristics of Yolanda, Tattoey, Masterson, etc. That's the only rats that I know of. Besides Rizzo, who started out behind the scenes in TMS, got one or two lines in GMC, and had a starring role in MTM.

There have been rats in all the productions of The Muppets since they first appeared on The Muppet Show. They're in the background somewhere. The most famous

The Witches featured a white mouse.
