I'm not sure if anybody has heard about this yet on here, but veteran Sesame Street songwriter as well as the screenwriter of Follow That Bird, Tony Geiss, passed away either last night or this morning, perhaps even earlier, I can't seem to find any news articles about it.

Regardless, may he rest in peace.

If there's no news articles that mentioned his passing, how did you find out about it?

Awww... please, no!

Tony Geiss wrote a LOT of absolutely wonderful stories AND songs for the Street. :frown:

Not only that, but outside of SST, he and fellow SST writer Judy Freudberg also wrote the screenplays for a lot of great Don Bluth movies, like the original American Tail and Land Before Time movies.

It's a real shame. My favorite song is his and Cerf's "Honk Around the Clock". He'll certainly be missed.

Aw, poor bbc! Do you really like "Elmo's Song"? It's okay; we can still remember him.
A scene from the Street comes to mind.
May he be remembered with respect. Tony Geiss, you were an appreciated artist.
