...good question, Ryan.

My brother gave him to me 13 years ago for my birthday, and it was just after Jim Henson died and I was re-awakening to the beauty of the Muppets and especially Sesame Street. Rubber Duckie started going with me on trips, I took pictures of him with friends and family and different places, and he just sort of became part of the family. I don't think I've been on a trip in 13 years without him. He's been to Europe, Mexico, in the Atlantic, Pacific, Gulf of Mexico, Rhine River, in at least 20 states (I'll have to count later) and he still squeaks with the best of 'em.

Not bad for a duck.

You can see his photo gallery here:

And his New York photo gallery (from the "Millionaire" trip) here:

Tiger, I loved it when Meredith called you a nut. Verry appropriate for a Muppet/Little People/Superfriends kind-of-guy.
If she only KNEW how messed up I am.

I mean, I hang out with YOU people...

Really nice appearance tonight (even though it was much too short). Shame you had to use all three lifelines yesterday. It was very cool that all the Little People were shown. Did they intentionally call them puppets not wanting to mention Fisher-Price by name? Wonder if the other View ladies got their Rollins hand-made replicas. Great schmoo Tiger!

Have you had anyone or anything particularly funny happen the past couple days with all the national TV exposure? Inquiring minds want to know.

They weren't even going to show the Little People on the air because they didn't want to start a Richard Dawson-Family Feudish tradition of people bringing little gifts for the host, but Meredith Vieira wanted them to be shown because she loved them. From what I hear, she kept them because she didn't want to give them to her "View" cohorts.

I'm not sure if she knew they were Fisher Price Little People--she's kinda out of that loop, and we wouldn't have been able to use the name "Fisher Price" on the air in any case. So Meredith went with "finger puppets," and it worked for her. Crazy lady. I like that she said "I'm becoming as weird as you are" or something to that effect. And that she mourned my loss with Rubber Duckie. Muh.

Really the best thing that's come out of this is that an old friend called me within minutes of the show ending, and I haven't talked to him in ten years. Turns out he's in Plano and doing very well. We talked for about half an hour, and that really made my day. I tried to hunt him down a few years ago, but didn't ever find him.

Other than that, not a lot has happened. We still have the eight grand, we'll use it when we're ready to get into a house someday. Because Melissa's smarter than me and won't let me buy toys with it. Actually, she WILL let me, but I'm not gonna push it.

I should be able to have a digitized version of it on my site pretty soon thanks to the skills and kindness of Scott, so if you happened to miss the show or if you're outside of North America, you may still be able to see it.

Blah blah blah. I talk too much when I'm at work.

That's cool that Rubber Duckie and the Little People made it on the air. Merideth seemed quite taken with both. And you looked so cool and easy-going the whole time, Quinn! You didn't even seem ruffled when your first two lifelines backfired. Great job! And glad you at least got $8000 out of the deal!

Thanks Erin--I think the "cool and easy-going" thing happened because of judicious editing, so you didn't see me wetting my pants or anything. Or maybe I've just wet them so often that I look really collected while I'm doing it.

I am kinda bugged that they edited Melissa completely out of both shows, but she's fine with it. She was bugged about being on tv again anyway.

Thanks!
