I love Big Bird! But I also love all the other characters. To be fair, I think Big Bird was mainly seen as the face of Sesame Street before Elmo came around. But even so, it never felt to me that Big Bird was the focus of the show or the only character to get most of the screentime. Sesame Street always seemed to maintain a pretty healthy balance. I think having additional segments like "Elmo's World" makes it seem more out of balance, whereas a longer street story with a wider range of characters might help in the regard. But I've come to accept that kids have been loving and growing up on "Elmo's World" as part of the Sesame Street that they know and when they look back on it in older years, that will probably be considered a mainstay of Sesame Street that's supposed to be there. And I guess that just goes to show has the show has changed through the years. But I still love Big Bird.:wisdom:
