What Jim was possibly eating (although it looked like a scallop or some other type of fish) was possibly a sliced water chesnut? Those things are pure white, and when cooked enough they are a little soft.

I'm going to go with the water chesse nut till someone proves it differntly. That's possibly what it could have been. That was driveing me nuts all those years beecause I could not figure out what the keck it was he was eating.
I wasn't sure if Jim was a viggie or not. Had a hunch he mught have been, but nothing was said for sure. If it was a water chssenut than Jim and I probably liked the same things. I love those things they are really good.
I can't see how anyone can be a veggie ro be frank I tried it for 2 months and was starving the whole time. lol
As for the woman sitting next to tim. I'm sure it was Gilda one of the puppet builders. I saw her in The secrets of the Muppets I believe she had a really good look at her face and I'm sure that was her and not one of his kids.

Yes, Jim was a vegetarian. I remember Steve mentioning it in one of his interviews. So it could very well have been a water chestnut (if those were even available in London in the early 80's).

By the way, I like water chestnuts too. How do they stay so crunchy?!

Christine is Jerry's daughter. Sadly, she died awhile after the movie came out.

As for the Jim Henson cameo, I'd always wondered why there was some random woman with him in the scene and not Jane.
I have also wondered that ever since I learned who the woman was. Maybe Jane didn't want to appear in the movie. Or maybe she was in the united states when the film was made.

I had the pleasure of meeting Amy Van Gilder at Muppetfest, and the moment I met her the first thing I thought was "Hey, that's the woman from that cameo with Jim in TGMC!".

So let me just confirm for the record: IT'S HER IN THE CAMEO.
