Question on attaching spoon Eyes

I use spoons for eyes for furry monster puppets, when I attach them I usually try to use hot glue, but that sometimes only glues to the fur, and not to the base where the fur is "anchored" so I was wondering what the best way for attaching them is.

Here's two different methods I've tried when it comes to attaching eyes to fur.

1. Add a little bit of glue to the underside of the pile and apply pressure to keep the fur itself in place before attaching the eyes.
2. Trim the fur in the exact spot you want the eyes before you attach them.

I would agree with both of those methods...if you're trimming the fur, I find it best to press the spoon into the fur for a few seconds so it leaves an imprint of where the fur needs to be trimmed and then cut just inside it. It saves you having a "**** i cut too much" moment.

i usually just trim about a 2cm square section and then put the glue there and press the spoon into that
