Actually, I guess my being on forums isn't TOO bad, she's approved of me signing up on forums in the past; she just doesn't want me going into chatrooms is all, and she doesn't approve of me on MySpace (even though she doesn't know) because she hears about a lot of sexual predators there and is concerned about my safety.
Same here. I used to have a myspace, but then I really took her consideration about saying with predators, so I just deleted it. Now when she asks me I can honestly say no without getting a bad feeling in my stomache
you realise, in order for you to have any problems with these "predators" you would actually have to give them your personal information, or for them to give you theirs and then you meet up with them?
This place is just as risky as myspace...or a chatroom.
yes, but see, I'm not even supposed to be on forums! And my mom just doesn't understand the whole "your choices make it dangerous" stuff. Which I'm going to assume is the same thing with Snowthy.
Tried it, it doesn't work. She doesn't like the fact that just anyone can see your picture, where you live, your name, etc. I also tried explaining all the "privacy" stuff, but still no go. I even told her I don't have to put all my personal info like that, but it's all bunk.

Or you all (and I'm referring to you too!) can simply track people down via their IP addresses then tell the whole world that information like you all did to me!

You should explain that to her then, with any sense she'll understand.
