Question about Sesame merchandise in Japan

According to that site, it said that Sony Creative Products(Japan) stopped making Sesame Street merchandise. Did another company pick up the rights to making SS stuff or not?

According to this site, there're 3 companies got the license for the SS stuff in JP: Sanrio, Snowa-note and Takara.

Sanrio's plushies are the BEST I've ever seen, the fur looks exactly like the real muppets in the show!

Saw the plush dolls on that site, and I keep wondering "Why aren't Oscar and The Count on any of the merchandise on that site?"

As I know Sanrio makes products of Big Bird, Cookie and Elmo ONLY, maybe there’s some license problem involved
But it seems the other 2 companies have no such problem at all.

Hmm...maybe you're right. Couldn't find the website for Snowa-note, but I went to the Takara website and saw a page for their SS products..still no Oscar in sight.

Here's the site of Snowa-note, but only a few info of their SS products.

I guess the reason have no Oscar is, the products were base on the Japanese version of SS, which have no Oscar at all (and have the other green muppet called Mojabo instead, also an other pink girl muppet Teena instead of Praire Dawn)

Or might be Japan have no tin trash can for him to live in.
