I was wondering a few things about Muppet Treasure Island.

1. in the song cabin fever, what is the name of that muppet that sings the line "I got cabin fever its burning in my brain"?

2. Were there chracters built specificly for the movie?

While I'm unsure of the answer to your first question, the answer to the second question is that most of them weren't... often times, puppets are recycled for various projects and movies... if you look closely, you'll see some of the puppets that were pirates in MTI were poor people/beggars in MCC. In fact, one of those puppets was Mudwell the Mudbunny from Fraggle Rock.

..but at the same time, while many of the pirates/puppets did previously exist, many of them WERE created for the film and made their debut in it.

I'm pretty sure that Polly Lobster, Mad Monty, Clueless Morgan, and Blind Pew were all created especially for this movie (even though Blind Pew resembles Uncle Deadley, and Mad Monty resembles Gorgon Heap).

I'm pretty sure the muppet that sings that line as I posted it was never in anyother muppet film, but I could be wrong too.
