I did read on Muppet Wiki, that the film segment about animals, jobs and hobbies starting with D was edited out of the HBO Kids broadcast, though it was aired in the Unpaved broadcast and also included in the Old School DVD release.

I can see a likely reason for being edited out of the HBO Kids version. One of the jobs mentioned in that Word Showcase segment was druggist, and given the problems with illegal drugs for all these years, was perception of illegal drugs the reason for not showing such segment in the HBO Kids broadcast?

I don't think that's it.

I get a feeling that clearances for HBO are different from video and even Noggin. Maybe some re-airing deals have expired. A lot of film and animation segments have been replaced, including stuff that have been cleared for video and were shown on Noggin. A lot of Joe Raposo music was replaced though his music continues to be included on new DVDs.
