Question about exclusive figures

I joined the Palisades Collector's Club and had a question about the exclusive figures. They mention members of the club will have access to convention and regional figures, but not retail ones. Are retail ones something like a repaint of a character that sells online and in stores? That was my best guess.

Also, now that I've paid to be a member of this club, does this mean I'll be able to get the Super Grover figure online that will be introduced at the LA Comics Convention in March?

Thanks for any advice - I'm new to this exclusive stuff.

Retail figures are any figures that are available to the general public through an actual store or an online site like toysrus.com, omgcfno.com, etc.

And yes, being a member allows you to get your hands on all convention exclusives. You should check out the message boards over at Palisades too, they're very helpful.

I'm a member too, did you get your membership with the tin, t-shirt and all the other cool stuff?

Thanks! I cannot wait for Super Grover to make his appearance!

I haven't gotten my membership kit yet since I signed up yesterday, but I ordered a tin with Gonzo and two chickens, and it looks like it comes with a t-shirt and some other cool things also.

I like reading the Palisades board too - some very interesting things on there.

OK, here are some things to know about the PCC.
1 Be aware that your tin might arrive a bit dented due to the shipping. Quite common a report on those from the people who've received thus far. Don't worry, the items inside are well protected, just a matter of inspecting the paint ops.
2 Be aware that your kit might arrive a bit late due to Tony being swamped with the orders after the change in warehouses.
3 Retail figures are the ones normally sold through the stores, either physical or online. Steppin' Out Fozzie is a retail figure and thus non-attainable through the club. However, you might be able to get one by communicating your requests with fellow board members on the Buy/Sell/Trade section of the forum.
4 Being a member will indeed entitle you to buy the 2005 Tour Super Grover figure, once it's been offered up at the respective con just like any other con specific figure(s). Tony Equi usually sends out E-mails alerting us as to when the items go up for sale in the club shopper.
5 Be aware of the difference in price in buying items through the club shopper.
Using Super Grover as an example... This is a figure that'll be made available at the cons, and thus exclusively through the club shopper. Therefore, we have to pay the price of purchase for the item plus S&H costs. However, when an item like the Jim Henson Muppet is offered up on Palisades Direct, it is simultaneously offered for purchase through the club's shopper. Club members who buy items offered through both methods by buying the item, the Jim Henson Muppet in this case, only have to pay the price with no S&H costs. S&H costs for such items are free.

Hope this helps and don't forget to read through the various columns at the club subsite.

Thanks for the info, Count. I got an email today saying my membership kit was shipped, so maybe Tony caught up with the orders?

I will keep this post to refer to and now I am counting the days until March 18! (We need some extra SS graemlins on here now!)
