No, not just another clever play on words. (Get it? Puppetry? Puppet Tree? Ah, never mind.)

I'm curious to know where one might locate a puppet tree. Sort of a rack to hang your puppets on while not in use like what they would display puppets on at a store. I'm interested in purchasing one so I don't have to have my puppets locked away in a bin anymore (It's cramped, and I don't have the room for more storage bins). If there isn't a place to purchase one, does anyone have instructions for building one?

An ideal puppet rack is shown in the background of this picture: http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Workshop-1980-2.jpg

One that's actually on the floor might be a little easier, though.

Thanks for the help!

If you search froogle.com for "metal puppet stand" you can probably find one. They're a bit on the expensive side. Otherwise you can get a big dowel & drill holes into it & throw other dowels onto the side.

No, I usually borrow one from our theater. Our theater has that one and others similar. At home I toss them into rubbermaid boxes where they suffer sniffing each other's puppet-holes.

http://www.codamount.com/accessrack.htm - expensive, but look very sturdy.

Wall mount version - http://www.vinyldirect.com/vd.asp?Param=2,7012 - cheaper, could be set on table or floor.

Hope this helps!

I have access to the discards of large rolls of paper for large format printing. The paper ships with two end cap pieces that make perfect bases and I use a discarded empty roll tube set onto it. A perfect single puppet stand. And free! I can show you guys pictures if you want...
