UPDATED INFORMATION:

This is an update over the old information:

Pulitzer for Peanuts

I got the following from Mr. Karl regarding a Pulitzer for Sparky:

I met with Jeannie and we decided not to send any more letters directly to
Professor Gissler or the Pulitzer Board. They should be sent to:
Creative Associates
#1 Snoopy Place
Santa Rosa, CA 95403
attn: Karl Jacque

We will collect them and send them all together at a later date. As we
discussed we will be spreading the word to cartoonists, artists and everyone interested in sharing their thoughts on how Charles M. Schulz has influenced their careers. Also letters from people that feel Sparky has qualified for the Pulitzer Special award or citation. Their letters will give examples of why they feel strongly about this fact.

I feel it is important for everyone to go to the Pulitzer web-site and
study the special award and citation winners list. Notice the people that have been picked. Study their contributions and see if you might determine why they were chosen. How do Sparky's contributions compare?

Don't worry if your letter has been sent already. We have decided not to
swamp Professon Gissler and his board with so many letters coming in at
different times. This is based on a nomination placed in the late 90's when
Seymour Topping was the administrator. At that time it appeared the nomination also went before the board. The reply was "...you should know that the Special Awards Committee and the Board reviewed your nomination last year and took no action, indicating a disinclination to make such an award."

I will be researching other options and categories for a Pulitzer
nomination. Please pass this e-mail on to your peers and contacts that
would like to join our campaign.

Best Regards, Karl Jacque

PS : I was a friend of Sparky's for 28 years. I was the IBM Serviceman at
his studio in the 70's. We played ice hockey together and refereed Junior Hockey at the Redwood Empire Ice Arena. ("Snoopy's Home Ice"). All of Sparky's friends have been playing hockey every Tuesday night for over 36 years. I am a member of the Woodstock Flyer's ice hockey team that competes each year in the Snoopy's Senior World Hockey Tounament in Santa Rosa. I volunteer at the Charles M. Schulz museum and serve on the membership board committee.

Please share this information with everyone that you can!
