so I was flipping through channels this moring, and I caught an episode of the new Power Rangers. does anybody else agree that the new rangers horrible. When I was 5, I watched the original Power Rangers, when they had Zordon, the giant head in a big tube. Now that was a good show.

The Rangers are OK... I LOVE the Origanels (i grew up with them) There on Disney's Jedix (abc family, Saturdays on ABC Kids andon Toon Disney at night...yeah i know there "not toons" lol) When we where at Disney Wold MGM Studios lastmonth The Power Rangers where all there. One Ranger from the Origanel, Wildforce, Ninga Storm, DinoThunder and SPD where there. I took some pics. Disney got/onwed the Rangers when they bought Fox Family, now ABC Family from fox in 2002, and part of the deal was that Disney got ALL of the tv Saban libiray and mech rights, to the rangers only. Marvel STILL owns SM and Hulk and the others but Disney ONLY has dvd.vhs rights ONLY, they own ONLY part of em with Marvel, the rest of the stuff they hole own (like how the Muppet thing works). Thats why the Tik, Power Rangers and Spider man, the Hulk, and Fanstsic 4 dvds and vhs ALL have the Disney's Buena Vista label on em! :smirk: any more questions i'd be happy to help ya!

I'm a big fan of the old rangers. I have lots of episodes recored from when they reaired them over the summers. I thought that was cool when Fox did that. I watched and recored everyone I could. I even have lots of toys, books and cards. I'm a big collector of any of the old stuff. Hope to see a season sets. I then could throw out all my old video tapes.

When I called the DisneyDVD hotline here a few months ago, I askd the woman about IF Disney had ANY plans for Season sets and she said they where considering it, but it could be months or years before there out! Belive me IF there where i'd be buyin em! I also have ALOT of the old books, toys ans stuff. after I got a lil older I put them in my closet and kinda forgot about em... then after here Disney was buyin em I TOOK em right out and added them to my Disney Mech in my room :smirk:

I pretty much have them all stuffed away in boxes and boxes. I look at them from time to time. I do have a Red Ranger stuffed animal that talks when you squeeze his chest. Doesn't work since I haven't bought any of those round flat battires. Oh well maybe I'll bring the old rascel to life one of theses days.

I got to admit, I have always hated Power Rangers with an unholy firey passion, myself. I did sort of enjoy it uneasily the first season, which was somewhat alright, I suppose. I didn't think it was playful enough to be campy, nor did I find it straightforward enough to be respectible.

I probably would have gotten more milage out of it if the entire show was dubbed, none of that "Angel Grove" Californian American type hoo hah! But then again, I'll always see Sentai Rangers as nothing more than a ripoff of Ultraman. Speaking of which, they did have an all dubbed Ultraman show on Fox 2 years ago (when it became Fox Box), and it didn't get widely recieve. Ironically, they had a Kinnikuman show on as well, which did significantly better.

For those who care, Kinnikuman was a 1980's animated parody of Ultraman, and (as far as the comics go, I've never seen the original show) Kinnikuman had a horrid rivalry with Ultraman, since Ultraman was the one that got respect and praise.... Kinnikuman was a goof ball, and flopped any attempt to be as respected. Sort of like George of the Jungle to Tarzan....

I'm both a ranger lover and hater, I love the early stuff, hate the new stuff. I recently found out There was even an episode in the Space Era where all the villians the rangers have ever had were teaming up to attack the world, and then one of the rangers had to break Zordon's tube (he was the floating head who started the rangers) and the energy from the tube killed Zordon, but also wiped out all the villians. Wouldn't it make sense to end the Power Rangers to end at this point, but they're still going.

What a freaky show. lol Just teasing. I never got into it but I've seen a few episodes. What gets me is how there is the gang of 5 to start out with (Red, Black, Pink, Yellow and Blue) and then the Green guy all of a sudden shows up. Then later, the new chump gets promoted from Green to White and is the "leader". I feel bad for the Red ranger. Wasn't he the head of the group?
