Has anyone ever bought or found a plush toy and turned it into a puppet? I did that with an Elmo plush i found yesterday.
So has anyone done that?

i've thought about it with a kermit plush... its not as easy when you have big hands lol. Maybe for a child or someone with thin hands... but i don't see it happening with any of my SS plush

(didn't get passed alvin) it seems those ar just if you want to have your hand come from the back of the head. I was reffering to coming up through the body.

... but hey let us all know how it turned out and try to post pics

It worked out great CoOKiE. i had alittle trouble because the hole up to the head was alittle small, but i was able to make it bigger, without sissors even, just a nice hard tug (or two). i did to a "stage" puppet so the hand goes up the bottom. the sad part is, i don't know how to post pics.
but now i know that when i'm at the flea market next, look for cheap plush toys and i can turn them into puppets.
 :wisdom:

Is there interest in a tutorial explaining how to do this? I know there is the YouTube video that Biblebetty linked to, but it's fairly old and I have to make a puppet from a plush toy for someone for Christmas (not yet sure if I'm going to convert the actual plush, or pattern a new puppet off of it) and thought I could easily take some pictures/videos and document the process if there's some interest.
