I have a backpack frame, I just need to look up close at some plans to figure out how to build one of these babies.
The rest of it could be built for under $50 I think. The plans are at http://www2.mailordercentral.com/oneway/ under staging & curtains. Get the plans called puppetry stages. It's only $10 and it's worth it. The rest of the materials shouldn't cost much more if you have the backpack already. 3 hola hoops, some angle bar and a shower curtain or material to make a good curtain. I have the plans and have thought of making it for myself.

Sounds like you're on the right track, but saw this on the PofA Board and thought I would add it to the thread:

CrimsonArts Studio has been manufacturing our fantastic "Walk-Around" Puppet Theater for several years and selling both directly and on our eBay store (Crimson Arts Studio). Great for Close-up work, Parades and School/Church events. For photos and or details contact Dan Vander Vere: crimsonartists@yahoo.com. Thanks!!
