this was posted by Scott over at Tough Pigs, he got it from IGN.com. I'm not sure if the links work here or if you have to copy them. all of the typing after this line is either the web sites and/or Scotts from TP's. so thank scott for these

oh well before you cross the line...lol... some of the picture look pretty neat, but it is a kids game, look the news man is in the pause menu!!!! and there are pengins and chickens and rats all over!, it also looks like there is a pigs in space game in this! i can't get the video's to work on my comp, but parts of this game look pretty cool and muppety, i just hopes it's a good game.

okay..the line you must cross now
bye!

Muppets: On with the Show
Those classic puppets continue their career on the GBA [for the non-geek: Game Boy Advance].

February 13, 2003 - Vicarious Visions, the development studio that's most known for its GBA renditions of Tony Hawk and the upcoming Jet Grind Radio has put together a GBA game aimed at the younger crowd in the form of Muppets: On with the Show, a series of wacky mini-games that TDK will publish this March. This upcoming GBA title will feature more than a half-dozen different challenges, each one spotlighting a specific Muppet in the game's theme. Kermit must row his boat along a river, avoiding other Muppets, including Piggy, as he strums along on his banjo. As the Swedish Chef, players will have to whack an army of rats before they snag all of the food in the kitchen; whatever goodies are left will determine the dishes the chef can whip up. In Animal's challenge, players follow along in a Dance Dance Revolution game mechanic in order to play the drums to the proper music beat. And players control Beaker in a challenge to keep bad items from falling in Dr. Honeydew's machine.

Muppets: On with the Show is definitely aimed at the kids crowd (6 to 8 year olds, according to TDK), but it's still pretty impressive on a technical level; characters are large and rendered with several frames of animation to give them that Muppet movement, for example. The games that are in this package aren't going to win any awards in their design or challenge, but hey, it's for the kids!

Hit the link below to check out screenshots and video clips of Muppets: On with the Show in action on the Game Boy Advance. Watch for a release of the game next month.

#1 looks extremely annoying.

#2 is my favorite. Funny stuff.

#3 What's up with Gonzo sounding like a chicken when he lands?

#4 um, lame.

#5 funny!

#6 is pretty funny and seems to have captured Beaker's personality well. In fact, they got Muppet Labs pretty good too. Unlike the Palisades likeness, this is actually Muppet Labs from The Muppet Show.

Would there be any harm in doing a video game at the quality level that they're done in today? Then again, I've never seen anythign from Muppet Monster Adventure or the Race Mania one, so they could be good.

HEY! the EM is in this game! well everyone but Zoot, they show a group shoot of the band jamming, with pengins and chickens dancing on the EM stage! LUKE! say this game does look fun! Muppet labs, Pigs in space, the Electric Mayhem - zoot, the newsman, this is very "muppet show" like.

it looks like there is a chef & rat game, kermit pond game, animal EM game, gonzo game, fozzie game, and Bunsen & beaker ML game and a Pigs in space game!

kermit kinda reminds me of the old NES game but it looks fun with floating fozzie, mermaid piggy and a penguing with a sun hat on and chicken with a snokle;-) hey is that Robin in the corner?

i wonder if there are anymore muppets in the game, come on rowlf were are you!

As a hardcore Muppets fan as well as an avid gamer for most of my life, I always seem to get excited when the two are combined^_^ Unfortunately that hasnt yielded the best results(most notably the horrible NES game)

IMHO Muppets Inside Cd-ROM(PC, 1996), and Muppet Pinball Mayhem(gba, 2002) are by far the best.

Muppets: On with the Show for GBA looks to have the most characters galore(as far as non go kart). MPM only had the usual main 5. And while Race Mania sported the most, I found it a bit of a chore and way too muddy in the graphics. The Game boy Advance is my fave system(though I can just imagine what astonishing Muppet game could be made on that)
My thoughts...

Movie 1: Wow. This is at once annoying, yet crypticly hypnotic...it stirred something within me, almost goosebumps...between the floating penguins, chickens, little frog bang, Fozzie, Kermit, and that Mermaid Piggy...I just couldnt look away...oh gosh...it was at once unnerving but exhilarating...argghhh, no.....I cant look away....man what an acid trip!

Movie 2: Wow, the boss actually looks like 3d cgi, neat effect...but ugh...it reminded me of some strange Japanese game show(youve seen the one) Oddly enough Piggy looks like the Palisades figure in this level.

Movie 3: Ummm...yeah....I guess this is gonzo's wacky version of Excitebike, but repetitive isnt even the word. Having the entire Muppet audience filled with chickens was a nice touch(didnt know the Muppet theatre stage was 3 football fields long tho:wink: )

Movie 4: Ok! Now this is more like it! Utilizing a Parappa the Rapper/Konami Bemani series styled press the button when yer spose to thing, this is a psychedelic Electric Mayhem performace that is so....colorful...hypnotic...*snaps out of it* Sorry, its the music and the colors, like that Hamster dance site...ya cant look away! No but seriously, even if ya have zero interest in the game click here: http://pocketmovies.ign.com/pocket/video/muppets_021303_4.mov ...as this has to be seen. The EM with dancing chickens and penguins, heh.

Movie 5: ROTFLOL!!! OMG! Ok folks, Ive never seen the insanity of the Swedish Chef skit captured like this...
http://pocketmovies.ign.com/pocket/video/muppets_021303_5.mov Please click on this...wow. Its like a 3d cgi chef, with chickens and rats aplenty...but what really had me cracking up(besides the chef's faux Sweedish gibberish) is the rat who tries to impersonate the chef...too funny! It even has the Swedish Chef theme! As well as the chef's mannerisms...not bad!

Movie 6: By far my fave, it stars a 3d cgi Beaker! This one is really funny, just the expressions of Beaker, heh. This is also a very 3am level, with all sorts of strange objects(plants, tubes, ufos, chickens, portraits of Beaker? Sure, why not)

Ok, yeah...play wise this could become about as fun as a trip to the proctologist...honestly, I hate to say this...but watch the 6 movies and theres your game experience. The game looks to be more like those online little java games on the muppetworld or mcdonalds uk site. But...there is more penguins and chickens packed in here then weve ever seen. And Muppet Newsman...whats up! http://pocketmedia.ign.com/pocket/image/muppets_021303_6.jpg

So yeah...this is definately a kid's game, or more specifically a collection of quaint little web type flash games.

Hi beaker, yeah it's a kids game, but it seems like fun on a long car ride or something, i don't have any fourm of a Game Boy what so ever, but i just might buy the GBA and then look for the old muppet games too. I was a racemania fanatic, i couldn't belive all the charcters in the game plus with the voices and movies, the graphic's were not the best but i still find it a great game.

i love it when muppets and video games are combined, i just didn't feel the need for the GBA muppet pin ball game, if i get a GBA i will look for this game but it wasn't enough for me to buy one, but i might catch up on Pacman and mario games too so that will keep me busy if i buy one.
