Sesame Workshop has promoted Carol-Lynn Parente from senior producer to exec producer, SESAME STREET. Parente will be responsible for the overall production process of the domestic program, reporting to Liz Nealon, evp/creative director.

"For 17 years, Carol-Lynn has been a part of the SESAME STREET family, steadily rising from post-production assistant to senior producer," said Nealon. "Her deep understanding of puppetry in all its complexity, combined with her experience with animation and post production proves her creative and invaluable as our team leader. We are delighted that Carol-Lynn will lead the series into its 37th season."

For the past four seasons, Parente has overseen the animation and post-production processes of Elmo's World segments as well two home videos titles ELMO'S WORLD: HAPPY HOLIDAYS and KIDS FAVORITE SONGS 2, both of which are Telly Award winners. Parente also worked closely with independent filmmakers to develop short films for SESAME STREET and played an integral role in the successful re-formatting of the show in 2002. Most recently, Parente won her sixth Emmy for SESAME STREET in the Outstanding Pre-School Children's Series category. In her new role, Parente will incorporate new characters and more advanced technology to keep SESAME STREET fresh, current and vibrant.

Prior to her work on SESAME STREET, Parente studied Marketing and Economics at Rutgers University. For a short time, she also worked with NBC Radio Production and Showtime's marketing department. Parente resides in Union City, New Jersey.

SESAME STREET recently reached yet another benchmark by topping the Guinness World Record for Most Emmys by a Television Series with 101 wins.

Does this mean she'll have Lewis Bernstein's job? I hope she does a good job, and I hope she's not another Michael Loman.
