I was (eventually) cleared to go into the Hasbro stand at the UK Toyfair - i did not see Unicron, they didn't have him, but they had a really high price point listed for him compared to a regular figure. All the stuff about him was really hush hush, but the official answer was that he won't be a regular figure - and the unofficial answer going around the stand was that he'll be a planet all of his own but it (or part of it) will transform into the figure in some way, but also have other little transformers included attaching onto it. I'm not sure whether they had his box art or not - that may have been something else.

well, all the armada figures have little figures that attach to them..they're called "minicons" in english or the much cooler "Microns" in Japan...

I'm sure you are right - there is something special about Unicron - just its hard to figure out what because the people actually in charge of the Transformers toys are all 40-60 year old men and women high up in the toy industry who've probably never even seen the show let alone can talk intelligently about it !
